We think Burgundy is one of the most interesting and beautiful areas of France, full of history and atmosphere. It is a truly magical place.
We feel privileged to live here and experience the warmth and hospitality of the local population, and welcome the opportunity to share our knowledge of the area with our guests.

 
We welcome guests for bed and breakfast for single nights or longer.

We also offer 2 holiday cottages "Petit Crème" (sleeps 4/5) and "Grand Crème" (sleeps 6/7), both available all year round.

On some occasions, we can make all of our accommodation available at special rates for large parties.

We are situated just over a couple of hours south of Paris and its airports by motorway, and one hour by rail. It is the province of wine, excellent restaurants, chateaux, medieval towns and villages, rolling countryside and lakes.

Montréal is midway between the white wine-growing area of Chablis to the north and red wine-growing area to the south around Beaune. It attracts its own tourists to the collegiate church with its fine alabaster and wooden carvings, which surmounts the "Mount Royal".

Heavily fortified, the village has an impressive entrance arch, defensive walls and houses in the local stone dating back to the 12^th and 13^th centuries.

Our home is mediaeval in origin with its staircase in a turret, a pretty courtyard for breakfasts outside, a large restored barn / party room / music room with grand piano and a sunny terrace overlooking a large garden with stunning views over the Burgundy countryside.

We can offer tailor-made out of season breaks at Maison Crème Anglaise, either in our gites, Petit Crème and Grand Crème, or in our chambres d´hôtes.
If you want to get away from it all and relax we can ensure log fires, a sauna, a good library, two pianos, home-made food, good wines, and the opportunity to relax and enjoy Montréal and its beautiful countryside.
The surrounding area it ideal for walking, and during the autumn and winter there are many festivals and musical events.
If you wish to arrive without your car at Montbard, a one hour trip by TGV from Paris, we can arrange transport for the duration of your stay.
With prior arrangement we can also provide lessons in painting, French and English.
